The Cult announced for October 7 the release of their new album, Under The Midnight Sun, produced by Tom Dalgety (Pixies, Ghost, Royal Blood) and released by Black Hill Records.

The Cult has shared the first single from what will be their 11th studio album: “Give Me Mercy”.

The single makes it clear that The Cult’s co-founding members Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy have spent the six years since their last LP pushing their esoteric force even further.

Astbury shares: “I was absolutely in love with this song that Billy had written, and it fit perfectly with the thoughts I had been having about our culture’s need to overcome assumptions of duality. We need a new language because words cannot express where we are going.” Duffy says: “’Give Me Mercy’ has all the hallmarks of the new Cult classic to my ears… fresh but familiar.”
